The residential REALTOR® profession is much larger than the commercial business In fact, commercial real estate only accounts for about 10 percent of the total real estate market.
Home Real Estate Market
The home real estate market has three main segments: single-family homes, multi-family homes (which are townhouses, apartments, and condos), and vacation property.
For example, a single-family home is a detached house that is occupied by one family. It typically has three or more bedrooms and one or more bathrooms. Single-family homes are the most common type of housing in the United States.
A multi-family home is a house that is divided into two or more units. These units can be apartments, condos, or townhouses. Multi-family homes are becoming increasingly popular because they offer more flexibility than single-family homes.
A vacation home is a property that is used for recreational purposes. It can be a house, condo, or cabin located in a desirable location, such as a beach town or ski resort. They can also be a great way to make some extra money in the short-term rental market.
Commercial Real Estate Industries
The commercial real estate market has five main segments: office buildings, industrial properties, retail properties, healthcare properties, and hospitality properties (like hotels and resorts). It also includes the property managers industry.
